Job Description
The Land Lease Analyst is responsible for managing land lease agreements, analyzing and interpreting lease terms, coordinating landowner payments, and supporting administrative and procurement processes within a renewable energy company.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate lease analysis, interpretation, and abstraction processes.
- Manage landowner rents, royalties, and ensure timely payments.
- Serve as primary contact for landowners regarding lease inquiries and payments.
- Analyze and interpret lease agreements to assess revenue impact.
- Determine division of interest and calculate royalties for transactions.
- Establish and maintain legal revenue ownership in SAP Power Plan.
- Review commercial contract language and create payment schedules.
- Validate system-generated payment calculations and approve landowner payments.
- Program landowner payment calculations in corporate systems with IT support.
- Work with Asset Management and Legal teams to validate payee status changes.
- Coordinate landowner payments with Cash Management and Accounting teams.
- Support budgeting and forecasting of land lease payments.
- Set up new vendors and process routine and non-routine payables.
- Generate intercompany payment requests and improve procurement processes.
- Maintain contract obligations and document management within internal systems.
- Review new lease agreements for concerns and missing data against Purchase and Sale Agreements.
Requirements
- College degree in Accounting, Library Science, Business, or Law preferred in lieu of a college degree, with 5 years of administering royalty payments.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in accounting, operations, or general business administration in a corporate setting.
- Experience in manipulating and managing large amounts of MS Excel-based data.
- Understanding of basic accounting and procurement concepts.
- Ability to read complex agreements for specific provisions related to payment and notice requirements.
- Proficient in the MS Office suite, including intermediate-advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
- Ability to perform well under pressure in a demanding environment and occasionally work extended hours to meet project deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
- Previous Division Order Experience.
