Job Description
The Vice President of AI Data Center Design leads the end-to-end design and development of scalable, cost-effective, and reliable AI and high-performance computing data center infrastructure, overseeing multidisciplinary teams and aligning design strategies with organizational growth and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design of data center infrastructure for AI and high-performance computing.
- Establish strategy, standards, and execution models for scalable and cost-effective infrastructure design.
- Oversee multidisciplinary design engineering teams across electrical, cooling, controls, and network systems.
- Develop and apply design frameworks, modular principles, and manufacturing standards for rapid deployment.
- Collaborate with Product, Power, Construction, Operations, and Finance teams to align design with business objectives and capital planning.
Requirements
- Experience leading end-to-end data center design functions, including establishing strategy, standards, and execution models to scale AI and high-performance computing infrastructure across an organization.
- Proven ability to define and operationalize a design engineering vision ensuring infrastructure designs are scalable, standardized, cost-effective, and aligned with long-term business objectives.
- Experience overseeing multi-disciplinary design engineering teams across electrical, cooling, controls, and network infrastructure.
- Knowledge of Basis of Design (BoD) frameworks, modular design principles, and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) standards, with the ability to ensure their consistent application for rapid, repeatable deployment of infrastructure at scale.
- Ability to develop and implement integrated design systems across electrical, cooling, controls, and network infrastructure.
- Experience partnering with Product, Power, Construction, Operations, and Finance teams to align design strategy with capital planning, operational performance, and growth initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership in ensuring design excellence, speed to deployment, and long-term infrastructure reliability in data center projects.
- Willingness and ability to operate a company vehicle or travel between job sites, and must be insurable under CleanSpark’s vehicle insurance policy.
