Job Description
The Pyrolyzer Shift Supervisor leads field operations in a climate-focused company, managing production schedules, ensuring safety, coaching team members, and coordinating across shifts to support carbon removal technology and environmental impact efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate field team operations during shifts
- Manage daily production schedules and adjust as necessary
- Conduct safety audits, enforce safety standards, and model safe practices
- Coach team members, facilitate shift meetings, and ensure alignment on expectations
- Mentor operators and shift leads to foster growth and skill development
- Oversee shift handovers, maintain detailed logs, and ensure clear communication
- Monitor production targets, safety metrics, and shift dynamics
- Identify and address training gaps, maintenance needs, and near-misses
- Manage scheduling, timecards, and training compliance for team members
Requirements
- In good standing with no disciplinary action or write-up within the past 6 months.
- 3-5 years of experience in operations, production, or field-based work, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead role.
- Familiarity with manufacturing, equipment-heavy environments, or fast-paced field operations.
- Prior experience in oil and gas, construction, manufacturing, or industrial processing is preferred.
- Ability to manage people, schedules, and shifting priorities effectively.
- Skills in coaching team members in the moment, delegating with intention, and knowing when to roll up sleeves.
- Ability to create clean handovers, maintain detailed logs, and hold the team to high standards.
- Flexibility to switch between proactive strategy and real-time problem solving without breaking stride.
- Understanding and following SOPs, safety protocols, and checklists with purpose.
- Experience in leading shift meetings, coaching team members, and keeping everyone aligned on expectations.
- Ability to create growth opportunities for operators and shift leads through mentoring on the floor.
- Experience in executing the daily production schedule and making adjustments as needed.
- Ability to coordinate across shifts to keep the flow moving smoothly and avoid bottlenecks.
- Leading safety audits, enforcing safety standards, and modeling safe practices in every task.
- Spotting trends in training gaps, maintenance needs, or near-misses and taking fast action.
- Managing scheduling, timecards, and training compliance for the crew.
- Ensuring clear communication during shift handovers and maintaining detailed logs.
