The Senior Mechanical Engineer will contribute to the development and optimization of Charm's biomass conversion and carbon removal technologies, working on innovative solutions to combat climate change and support the company's mission of permanent atmospheric CO₂ reduction.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize mechanical systems for biomass conversion and carbon removal processes
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure mechanical components meet project requirements
Conduct testing and validation of mechanical systems to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during development and operational phases
Create detailed mechanical drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in mechanical design, analysis, or manufacturing.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Ability to develop detailed mechanical designs and specifications for complex systems.
Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent for designing mechanical components and assemblies.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for mechanical engineering design and safety.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical information clearly.
Physical ability to perform hands-on assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems as required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and adapt to evolving project needs.
