The Pyrolyzer Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading field operations in a carbon removal company, overseeing production, safety, and team management during 12-hour shifts, with a focus on operational excellence and climate impact.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the field crew, conduct shift meetings, coach team members, and ensure alignment on expectations.
Create growth opportunities for operators and shift leads through mentoring.
Execute the daily production schedule, make adjustments as needed, and coordinate across shifts to maintain smooth operations.
Lead safety audits, enforce safety standards, and model safe practices.
Identify trends in training gaps, maintenance needs, or near-misses and take corrective actions.
Manage scheduling, timecards, and training compliance for the team.
Ensure clear communication during shift handovers and maintain detailed logs.
Requirements
In good standing with no disciplinary action or write-up within the past 6 months.
3-5 years of experience in operations, production, or field-based work, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead role.
Familiarity with manufacturing, equipment-heavy environments, or fast-paced field operations.
Prior experience in oil and gas, construction, manufacturing, or industrial processing is preferred.
Ability to manage people, schedules, and shifting priorities effectively.
Skills in coaching team members in the moment, delegating with intention, and taking initiative to solve problems in real-time.
Ability to create clean handovers, maintain detailed logs, and hold the team to high standards.
Proficiency in balancing proactive strategy with real-time problem solving without losing momentum.
Understanding and following SOPs, safety protocols, and checklists with purpose.
Experience leading shift meetings, coaching team members, and keeping everyone aligned on expectations.
Ability to create growth opportunities for operators and shift leads through mentoring on the floor.
Experience executing the daily production schedule and making adjustments as needed.
Ability to coordinate across shifts to ensure smooth flow and avoid bottlenecks.
