Job Description

This role involves applying finance, accounting, and economic expertise to analyze complex legal and regulatory issues, develop financial models, and produce expert reports to support litigation and dispute resolution for clients in a consulting firm environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and analyze complex economic and financial models to address legal and regulatory issues.
  • Guide programming, model building, and statistical analysis using tools like Stata, SAS, R, or Python.
  • Draw conclusions and generate insights from data analysis to inform client strategies and opinions.
  • Draft and present expert reports summarizing analyses, opinions, and recommendations.
  • Interact directly with clients, attorneys, industry professionals, and government entities on finance and economics issues.
  • Assist regulators and financial institutions with analysis of trading activities in various markets.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of economic analyses and opinions.
  • Supervise, coach, and delegate work to junior analysts.
  • Participate in practice development activities, including mentoring, training, and recruiting.
  • Identify and raise potential project revenue opportunities to senior staff.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have a PhD in Finance or Accounting graduating in 2026 and up to 10 years of relevant post-PhD work experience.
  • Candidates must have a strong working knowledge of financial, accounting, and economic concepts.
  • Candidates must possess a range of research and quantitative analysis skills, including proficiency in Excel.
  • Candidates must be curious and analytic thinkers who bring creative approaches to non-standard problems.
  • Candidates must have exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a high level of initiative and leadership.
  • Candidates must have strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities.
  • Candidates must have excellent time management and task prioritization skills.
  • Candidates must be able to independently conceptualize and identify issues, and design complex economic and financial models to analyze economic and financial data.
  • Candidates must be able to guide programming, model building, and regression analysis in statistical analysis programs such as Stata, SAS, R, or Python.
  • Candidates must be able to draw conclusions and generate insights based on models and data analysis.
  • Candidates must be able to draft and present portions of client deliverables including expert reports summarizing opinions, conclusions, and recommendations, and analyze third-party financial, market, and industry data.
  • Candidates must be able to interact directly with clients, attorneys, industry professionals, and government entities on finance, strategy, and economics issues.
  • Candidates must assist regulators and financial institutions with analysis of trading on exchanges and in OTC markets for a wide spectrum of contracts.
  • Candidates must ensure the integrity and accuracy of economic analyses and opinions.
  • Candidates must facilitate internal and client meetings with effective communication.
  • Candidates must supervise, coach, and delegate work to junior analysts.
  • Candidates must assist with practice development activities including mentoring, training, recruiting, and thought leadership.
  • Candidates must identify and raise potential project revenue opportunities to senior staff.

Salary range of $180,000 - $213,750 with potential bonus incentive compensation
