The role involves providing economic and analytical support on competition law cases, working closely with senior staff to shape and analyze major competition proceedings across Europe, with opportunities to handle significant cases in the field of antitrust and regulation.
Key Responsibilities
Assist senior staff with competition case work by providing conceptual and practical input
Contribute to the analysis and shaping of significant competition cases in Europe
Support the preparation of economic and legal arguments in competition proceedings
Conduct economic analysis using quantitative and qualitative methods
Collaborate with team members to develop case strategies and solutions
Requirements
First degree in economics and a PhD DPhil in economics from a well-regarded institution with a strong foundation in microeconomics, preferably with a specialism with large data sets empirical PhDs or Industrial Organisation and or statistics econometrics, plus up to 3 years of relevant work experience.
Non-PhD applicants should have strong academic achievement in a Master’s program, plus 5-7 years relevant work experience.
Professional work experience in consulting, business, or with a competition authority is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of economic concepts, competition regulatory authorities, competition policy, and quantitative and qualitative analysis methods.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated high level of initiative and leadership.
Strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities.
Excellent time management and task prioritisation skills.
