The Senior Associate in CRA's Forensic Services practice conducts digital forensic investigations, cyber breach analysis, and incident response, providing technical expertise to support clients in fraud, misconduct, and cybersecurity matters while managing project teams and contributing to business development.
Key Responsibilities
Execute security and privacy investigations, including theft of trade secrets, cyber breaches, threat analysis, incident response, and malware analysis.
Perform forensic analysis of digital information using computer forensics techniques and tools.
Evaluate and implement new tools and processes to improve digital forensic and incident response capabilities.
Establish and maintain relationships with law enforcement agencies to assist in criminal investigations.
Prepare client communications regarding project milestones and findings.
Manage risk through quality control measures and thorough documentation.
Supervise and mentor junior staff members and manage team morale.
Provide technical assessments and guidance on cybersecurity controls based on relevant frameworks.
Interface with client personnel to support investigation and cybersecurity efforts.
Assist in business development by drafting proposals and coordinating with practice areas.
Requirements
Must have 5-7 years of experience in digital forensics, cyber intrusion investigation or incident response analysis.
Must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.
Experience performing forensic analysis of digital information using standard computer forensics and evidence handling techniques and computer forensics tools.
Experience in software development lifecycle, full-stack development and performing source code review.
Experience with data analytics engagements and contributing to the execution of technology-based best practices.
Working knowledge of computer hardware components, operating systems, file systems, computer networks, e-mail systems, mobile devices, IT security or incident response.
Deep knowledge of networking TCP/IP, design, traffic flow, protocols, sessions, operating systems Windows, Linux, and web technologies.
Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects and meet timely deadlines.
Experience in a hands-on technical role functioning as a digital forensic examiner, incident responder, network forensic analyst or malware analyst.
Providing technical assessment, audit, and guidance to clients on the adequacy of cybersecurity controls in accordance with cybersecurity frameworks including NIST CSF 2.0, HIPAA, ISO 27001 and 27002, SOC2, NERC-CIP.
Interfacing with client personnel.
Managing risk by implementing quality control measures and documentation.
Managing and supervising teams as appropriate.
Participating in project team execution, analysis, and work product.
Managing the growth and professional development of junior staff members.
Providing management support to engagement teams led by senior personnel.
