Job Description
The Controller will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of CRA's Financial Administration Department, including accounts payable, payroll, billing, and revenue accounting, ensuring financial accuracy, internal controls, and compliance while leading and mentoring a team to support the firm's global growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the Financial Administration group, including Accounts Payable, Payroll Processing, Billings Collections, and Revenue Accounting.
- Supervise and manage the career development of the North American-based accounting team.
- Review journal entries and certify monthly account reconciliations.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
- Perform monthly SOX controls and internal control procedures.
- Analyze financial performance data and provide insights to senior management.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external auditors to ensure compliance and accurate financial reporting.
- Contribute to the implementation and operationalization of new technical accounting standards.
Requirements
- CPA certification is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management roles, with proven work experience as a Controller or similar senior financial management role overseeing revenue, payroll processing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
- Experience managing and mentoring a team effectively.
- Experience reviewing and redesigning operational processes.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate with other departments.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience reviewing journal entries and certifying monthly account reconciliations.
- Experience performing monthly SOX controls.
- Experience liaising with external auditors and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and accurate financial reporting.
- Experience developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Experience overseeing operations of Accounts Payable, Global Payroll Processing, Billings Collections, and Revenue Accounting.
- Experience analyzing actual performance compared to prior-period data and budget, and providing insights to senior management.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key administrative and research staff, including practice leadership.
- Experience coordinating with other departments and countries to solve complex operational and technical issues.
- Ability to review and certify journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.
- Experience implementing new software solutions (preferred).
- Professional services experience (preferred but not required).

Salary range of $190,000 - $215,000 with potential bonus incentive compensation
