The Consulting Associate at Charles River Associates is an entry-level role involving economic analysis, data modeling, and research to support competition law cases and regulatory proceedings, working closely with senior staff on high-profile projects in Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with senior staff and experts on competition cases to provide economic analysis and support.
Identify potential issues and conduct analyses to illustrate economic arguments.
Assemble evidence from data and research to support expert opinions and recommendations.
Program, build models, and perform regression analyses using statistical software such as Stata, Python, or R.
Assist in developing and presenting client deliverables, including expert reports and white papers.
Communicate complex economic concepts to non-expert audiences, including clients.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of analyses and opinions provided in projects.
Requirements
A postgraduate qualification in economics (such as MSc or MPhil) from well-regarded institutions with a strong foundation in microeconomics, preferably with a specialization in industrial organization or statistics econometrics, as well as a good first degree in economics.
Up to 3 years of professional experience, ideally in a consulting or competition policy environment.
Fluency in English.
High degree of numeracy and some comfort with data manipulation.
Familiarity with econometric techniques is desirable.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated high level of initiative and leadership.
Strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities.
Excellent time management and task prioritization skills.
