Job Description
The Senior Automation Integration Engineer at Celonis is responsible for designing, developing, and managing AI-driven automation workflows and system integrations, primarily using Make and Workday, to enhance organizational efficiency and scalability. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders, exploring AI applications, ensuring security and compliance, and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable AI automation workflows using Make to connect core business systems, especially Workday.
- Manage data flows, transformations, and integrations between systems like Workday Finance and Workday HCM.
- Explore, evaluate, and deploy AI applications to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to identify automation opportunities and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain documentation for automation workflows and integrations, ensuring governance and compliance standards are met.
- Diagnose and resolve complex cross-system issues, identifying architectural gaps and proposing solutions.
- Mentor junior team members and share technical knowledge to foster a culture of continuous learning.
Requirements
- Deep Automation Expertise: 4 years building production-grade automation workflows with Make preferred, n8n, Zapier, or Power Automate, including designing multi-step integrations with proper error handling, retries, and auditability, and writing scripts in Python and/or JavaScript when no-code solutions are insufficient.
- Workday Integration Experience: Solid hands-on experience across Workday Finance and/or HCM, including understanding of underlying data models and how Finance and P C teams rely on Workday as their system of record, with practical experience building or maintaining integrations using EIBs, Workday Studio, Core Connectors, PECI PICOF, or the Workday REST SOAP APIs.
- Practical AI Application: Demonstrable experience designing and deploying AI-powered workflows, including LLM-based agents, to solve real business problems, with the ability to evaluate AI tools critically, build structured proof of concepts, and write clear assessment summaries.
- Get it Done Mindset: A proactive, self-motivated approach with a bias for action, thriving in fast-paced environments where requirements might change.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven communication skills and confidence to engage with Finance and P C stakeholders as well as technical teams, challenge assumptions, and communicate with radical candor.
- Curiosity: Eagerness to learn and quickly acquire new technical skills in a rapidly evolving tech landscape.
