Job Description
A Software Backend Engineer responsible for supporting and maintaining Celonis's on-premise Process Mining application, assisting in its migration to the cloud, and enhancing system reliability and security using Java Spring Boot and related technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full on-premises product lifecycle from investigation to delivery
- Support and maintain project stability, security, and update dependencies
- Improve automation of development processes
- Assist Level 3 support in resolving complex customer issues
- Support on-premises customers in migrating to the cloud-based Celonis Platform
- Implement new standards and protocols to enhance software reliability
- Mentor and grow engineering team members
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 3-6 years of hands-on software engineering experience
- Hands-on experience in Java, Spring, Hibernate frameworks
- Experience supporting and maintaining enterprise-level software systems
- Ability to navigate typical enterprise challenges such as security, compliance, scalability, and data consistency
- Exhibit excellent programming skills and a strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Experience working on microservices-based distributed systems
- Experience supporting on-premises customers and assisting in their migration to cloud-based platforms
- Experience with Windows and Linux OS management, including standard tools, commands, services, permissions management, debugging, profiling tools, and reading application and system logs
- Ability to take ownership of the full on-premises product lifecycle, including investigating, implementing, building, and delivering to customers
- Support and maintain project stability and security, update dependencies, and implement new standards and protocols
- Increase the reliability of software continuously
- Support Level 3 customer support in investigating and resolving complex problems
- Ability to work in geographically distributed work environments
- Strong analytical skills and a good understanding of complex data structures and algorithms in data management
