Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer in the Engineering Productivity team responsible for developing and maintaining shared Java libraries, optimizing the software development lifecycle, and creating tools and automation solutions to enhance engineering efficiency and quality across cloud-based services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and enhancement of central shared Java libraries for performance, reliability, and security across cloud services.
- Identify and analyze inefficiencies and bottlenecks within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Design and implement internal tools, frameworks, and automation solutions to streamline development workflows and testing processes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to promote best practices and ensure effective adoption of productivity improvements.
- Provide guidance and building blocks for tracking quality attributes such as performance, scalability, and traceability.
- Integrate quality gates into Continuous Delivery pipelines to enable automated testing and early feedback on delivery risks.
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- At least 5 years of professional experience building Java applications
- Good understanding of Spring frameworks
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions
- Familiarity with containerization technologies e.g. Docker, Kubernetes
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to lead the development and evolution of shared Java libraries, ensuring high standards for performance, reliability, and security
- Ability to proactively identify and analyze inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and pain points within the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Experience architecting and implementing high-quality internal tools, frameworks, and automation solutions to streamline workflows, debugging, and testing
- Experience building quality gates into Continuous Delivery pipelines to run automated tests often and fail fast, providing earlier feedback on delivery risks
