Job Description
A senior commercial leader responsible for driving growth and developing market strategies for Carbon Direct's power and electricity analytics business, focusing on consulting and digital products to support decarbonization efforts in the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities and develop offerings in power sector consulting and digital products based on client needs.
- Define and execute go-to-market strategies for the power business, including sales and market positioning.
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients to pursue strategic growth opportunities.
- Expand revenue by managing and growing relationships with large clients such as tech companies, utilities, and power market participants.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable, market-aligned solutions.
- Lead the commercialization of analytical and technical services related to power and energy markets.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear commercial value for clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in the power, energy, or climate technology sectors.
- Experience working with or at a data center hyperscaler is a strong plus.
- Proven track record selling power-related offerings into large enterprises utilities, hyperscalers, grid operators, or energy buyers.
- Experience building and commercializing analytical or technical services.
- Strategic seller who can translate complex modeling and scientific capabilities into client value.
- Entrepreneurial mindset comfortable building a business line and owning outcomes.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Existing relationships or book of business in the power, energy, or climate technology sectors.
- Experience in commercializing software or digital products in energy analytics.
- Understanding of grid modeling, renewable integration, or power market dynamics.
- An advanced degree in engineering, power systems, energy economics, or a related field is preferred.
