Job Description
Assist with reviewing and assessing carbon project proposals related to carbon dioxide removal and reduction technologies, supporting senior scientists in producing detailed reports to ensure project quality and credibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess carbon project proposals based on established quality criteria
- Prepare short reports summarizing findings of project reviews
- Collaborate with senior scientists to ensure review quality and accuracy
Requirements
- Candidates must be advanced graduate students pursuing a Masters or PhD in climate science fields such as forestry, engineering, chemistry, environmental science, or ecology.
- Candidates must be interested in gaining work experience through project reviews related to carbon dioxide removal and reduction technologies.
- Candidates must be able to conduct project reviews that follow a set template and examine project proposals in the context of six quality criteria.
- Candidates must work under the oversight of a Carbon Direct senior scientist and adhere to rigorous QA/QC standards.
- Candidates must be able to complete short reports based on project reviews, with deliverables aligned to the anticipated length and complexity of each review.
