Job Description
Assist with reviewing and assessing carbon project proposals related to carbon dioxide removal and reduction technologies, supporting senior scientists with technical evaluations to ensure project quality and credibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct reviews of carbon project proposals based on set quality criteria
- Prepare short reports analyzing project proposals under supervision
- Assist senior scientists with project diligence and technical assessments
Requirements
- Candidates should be advanced graduate students pursuing a Masters or PhD in climate science fields such as forestry, engineering, chemistry, environmental science, or ecology.
- Candidates must be interested in gaining work experience through project reviews related to carbon dioxide removal and reduction technologies.
- Candidates must be able to conduct project reviews that follow a set template and examine project proposals in the context of six quality criteria.
- Candidates must work under the oversight of a Carbon Direct senior scientist and adhere to rigorous QA/QC standards.
- Candidates must be able to complete short reports based on project reviews, with deliverables scheduled according to the anticipated length and complexity of each review.
