Canonical is seeking a Web UI Engineer to develop and maintain data-rich, accessible, and high-performance user interfaces using technologies like React, Flutter, and web standards, contributing to open-source enterprise products and collaborating with a global community.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement well-tested and documented web or Flutter software
Debug and fix issues encountered by users
Participate in code and architectural reviews
Collaborate with community and colleagues on technical specifications
Contribute to technical documentation
Seek improvements to engineering and operations practices
Deploy and operate services developed by the team
Contribute to the success of products through technical advocacy
Requirements
An exceptional academic track record from both high school and university or a compelling narrative about your alternative path
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or equivalent experience and skills demonstrating the ability to perform the role
Drive and a track record of going above and beyond expectations
Well-organized, self-starting, and able to deliver to schedule
Professional manner in interacting with colleagues, partners, and community
Experience designing and writing high-quality Web technologies
Experience with and passion for Typescript, React, or Flutter
An eye for accessibility and performance in web development
Professional written and spoken English
Experience with Linux Debian or Ubuntu preferred
