Job Description
A Visual Designer at Canonical is responsible for developing and applying brand guidelines and design systems to enhance digital products and communications, focusing on usability, accessibility, and visual appeal to reach a broad audience.
Key Responsibilities
- Evolve and apply brand guidelines to communications materials, UI design system, and digital graphics
- Create clear, stylish presentations that enhance user experience and accessibility
- Design content-driven visuals that communicate complex information effectively
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain design standards
Requirements
- Experience as a designer with agency, company, or freelance background.
- Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
- An undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative about an alternative chosen path.
- Confidence to respectfully speak up, exchange feedback, and share ideas without hesitation.
- A track record of going above-and-beyond expectations to achieve outstanding results.
- Leadership and commitment to skills development and mentorship.
- Passion for technology evidenced by personal projects and initiatives.
- The work ethic and confidence to shine alongside motivated colleagues.
- Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.

- Ability to travel internationally twice a year, for company events up to two weeks long.
