Job Description

The Threat Intelligence Lead is responsible for developing and executing Canonical's threat intelligence strategy, analyzing cyber threats targeting the company's open source products, and collaborating with internal teams and the wider cybersecurity community to enhance security measures and establish thought leadership in open source threat intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and own Canonical's threat intelligence strategy
  • Build and maintain OSINT research environments and techniques
  • Identify, track, and analyze cyber threats, trends, and threat actor activities
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external community to share intelligence and establish thought leadership
  • Advise product and engineering teams on cybersecurity threats and mitigation strategies
  • Coordinate adversary campaign tracking and report findings to stakeholders
  • Identify intelligence gaps and propose new tools or research projects
  • Conduct briefings for executives, internal teams, and external customers

Requirements

  • An experienced threat intelligence leader or similar with knowledge of current open source threat landscape and computer networking infrastructure concepts.
  • Highly competent with OSINT tools such as Buscador, Trace Labs OSINT VM, OSINT Framework, Maltego, Shodan, social media scraping tools, etc.
  • Ability to identify, organise, catalogue, and track adversary tradecraft trends often with incomplete data.
  • Experience using threat intelligence data to influence enterprise architecture or product development decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate and tailor technical content to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to travel twice a year, for company events up to two weeks long.
