Job Description
A fast-paced engineering role focused on Linux-based software-defined infrastructure and applications, involving troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving complex issues across the entire technology stack, including cloud, storage, networking, and open source platforms, with opportunities for remote work and international travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Resolve complex customer issues related to Ubuntu, OpenStack, Ceph, and Kubernetes
- Debug and troubleshoot issues across all layers of Linux-based infrastructure and applications
- Collaborate with support, field, and product engineering teams
- Participate in upstream open source communities to propose patches and workarounds
- Manage operational escalations and drive issues to resolution with workarounds, guidance, and upstream fixes
Requirements
- Professional experience troubleshooting advanced Linux issues.
- Background in Computer Science, STEM or similar field.
- Exceptionally strong experience with either Linux, LXD, OpenStack, Ceph or Kubernetes.
- Strong debugging experience with Python, Go, C or C++ on Linux.
- Ability to troubleshoot with gdb, pdb, tcpdump or other debugging tools.
- Familiarity with git source code repositories and branches.
- Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.
- Maintain a clear, technical and concise communication style.
- Participate in a regular weekend working rotation.
- Provide subject matter expertise as the final point of escalation on operational issues.
