Job Description
This role involves leading the effort to adapt and certify Ubuntu for use in highly regulated, mission-critical environments such as automotive, aerospace, and industrial robotics, by establishing engineering excellence, compliance standards, and collaborative practices across teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to adapt Ubuntu for use in highly regulated environments such as automotive, aerospace, and industrial robotics.
- Transform complex regulatory, compliance, and certification demands into concrete engineering outcomes and best practices.
- Challenge and influence engineering culture across teams to adopt and internalize engineering excellence and open-source values.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to define, implement, and improve processes, standards, and qualification requirements.
- Establish methods for measuring and improving engineering quality and culture.
- Build strategic relationships with external standards groups, committees, and partners to support certification and compliance efforts.
Requirements
- Strong experience in engineering and process management in an agile environment
- Knowledge or certification of standards addressing quality of software artifacts such as ISO IEC 25010 or ASPICE
- Experience in leading successful compliance and certification efforts, including understanding the process and stakeholders management required
- Experience with Linux
- Proven ability to develop and grow people and teams with a track record of doing so
