Job Description
Canonical is seeking talented Software Engineers with strong Python, Linux, and packaging skills to develop and maintain tools that simplify software build and publication processes for open source projects like snaps, charms, and rocks, impacting thousands of developers and users worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Python tools to support the build and publication process of snaps, charms, and rocks.
- Design and improve tooling for building and automating software packaging formats and build systems.
- Collaborate with external open source and commercial projects to enhance community support and tooling ecosystem.
Requirements
- Expertise in Python programming.
- Strong understanding of the makeup of a modern GNU Linux distribution.
- Good understanding of build systems and toolchains, including for cross-compilation.
- Experience working with container technology, such as Docker, Kubernetes, and LXD.
