Job Description

A software engineering role focused on developing and optimizing open source networking solutions across various hardware and software platforms, with opportunities for technical leadership and community engagement in a remote, global environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement software-defined networking solutions for advanced hardware platforms and software stacks
  • Collaborate with public clouds and network silicon providers to optimize networking software
  • Write high-quality, well-documented, and reliable code for networking applications
  • Debug and resolve issues in networking software to ensure performance and stability
  • Contribute to technical documentation and open-source community projects
  • Provide technical leadership and influence the development of networking products and open-source projects
  • Shape and develop networking software to meet evolving data center and hardware requirements

Requirements

  • An exceptional academic track record from both high school and university, or a compelling narrative about your alternative path.
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or equivalent experience demonstrating the same level of knowledge.
  • Drive and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations in professional or academic settings.
  • Knowledge of networking architecture, design, and protocols.
  • Deep understanding of Linux networking, from kernel to user space.
  • Fluency in at least one of Golang, C, C++, Rust, or Python.
  • Professional written and spoken English skills.
  • Experience with Linux Debian or Ubuntu preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.
  • Passion, thoughtfulness, and self-motivation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Result-oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments.
  • Ability to travel twice a year, for company events up to two weeks each.
