Job Description
This role involves developing and executing strategic partnerships with leading software companies to promote and integrate Canonical's open-source solutions, particularly Ubuntu, across various industries. The position requires cross-functional collaboration, account management, and advocacy to drive product adoption and build joint offerings in a remote, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set account strategies within major accounts, regions, or verticals.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, alliance, and marketing teams to align on open-source strategies.
- Capture partner requirements, evaluate gaps, and identify Canonical opportunities.
- Coordinate with marketing and product teams on messaging, content creation, and launch plans.
- Create partner- and customer-facing materials such as reference architectures, joint blueprints, webinars, and white papers.
- Drive Ubuntu adoption within targeted alliance accounts and facilitate partner enablement training.
- Influence alliance partners to adopt Canonical technology and build solutions with it.
Requirements
- Demonstrated success in business development or product management, both as a leader and an individual contributor in major accounts.
- Approximately 7 years of professional experience.
- Bachelor's degree in science, technology, and/or engineering.
- Experience in software development and system architecture.
- Customer-facing experience in software engineering, product management, business development, technology strategy, or similar functions.
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of stakeholders, from individual contributors to the C-suite, with the ability to grasp complex material and synthesize key points.
- Ability to think and work at both strategic and tactical levels.
- Disciplined and self-motivated for a remote-first workplace environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, including internationally, for internal conferences and to drive partnerships.
- Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and influence.
