Job Description
A Senior Site Reliability Engineer responsible for designing and maintaining scalable, automated cloud infrastructure using Python, with a focus on open source technologies like Kubernetes and OpenStack, in a globally remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and operate cloud infrastructure including OpenStack, Kubernetes, and software-defined storage.
- Develop and maintain automation tools using Python to manage enterprise infrastructure at scale.
- Implement and practice DevSecOps principles across bare metal, containers, and applications.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and ensure the reliability and performance of mission-critical cloud services.
- Drive infrastructure upgrades and improvements to keep systems current with the latest open source capabilities.
- Collaborate with teams to enable secure and efficient operations for global customers.
Requirements
- Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science
- Experience with Linux and familiarity with Linux networking and storage
- Python software development expertise
- Operational experience in a high-pressure environment with mission-critical services for global brand name customers
- Ability to work in a globally remote role
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally twice a year, for company events up to two weeks long
- Ability to learn the entire stack, from bare metal networking and kernel up to serverless and open source applications
- Fluency in Python as a software engineer
- Genuine interest in the full open source infrastructure stack from metal to containers
- Ability to bring Python software-engineering skills and rigour to operations domain
- Experience architecting and running OpenStack, Kubernetes, and software defined storage (preferred but not mandatory)
- Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
