Job Description
A Senior Site Reliability Engineer responsible for designing, automating, and maintaining large-scale cloud infrastructure using Python, with a focus on open source technologies like OpenStack and Kubernetes, to ensure reliable and efficient operations for enterprise clients in a remote, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and operate cloud infrastructure including OpenStack, Kubernetes, and software-defined storage.
- Develop and maintain automation tools using Python to manage infrastructure at scale.
- Implement and practice DevSecOps principles across bare metal to application layers.
- Manage and optimize enterprise infrastructure and mission-critical services for global customers.
- Drive upgrades and ensure infrastructure remains current with the latest open source capabilities.
- Collaborate with teams to improve operational efficiency through metrics-driven, code-based solutions.
Requirements
- Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science
- Experience with Linux and familiarity with Linux networking and storage
- Python software development expertise
- Operational experience in a high-pressure environment with mission-critical services for global brand name customers
- Ability to work in a globally remote role
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally twice a year, for company events up to two weeks long
- Ability to learn the entire stack, from bare metal networking and kernel up to serverless and open source applications
- Interest in automation as a pure software engineering problem, driven by metrics and code
- Ability to work in a high-pressure operations environment with mission-critical services for global brand name customers
