A Revenue Accountant at Canonical is responsible for supporting revenue recognition processes, assisting with month-end and year-end reporting, and helping prepare the company for an IPO, with a focus on IFRS 15/ASC 606 standards in a dynamic, global, and remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the month-end reporting process to deliver accurate financial information
Manage a specific part of the revenue recognition process related to IFRS 15/ASC 606
Support the year-end audit process and statutory reporting
Help prepare the business for an IPO by supporting finance team initiatives
Improve the efficiency of financial processes and ensure compliance
Share knowledge within the finance team to ensure coverage and continuity
Develop personal skills to stay current with applicable standards and regulations
Requirements
Assist in the month end reporting process to deliver timely and accurate information
Have full responsibility for a part of the revenue recognition process relevant to your strengths
Assist with the year end audit process and statutory reporting
Support the finance team’s wider plans to prepare for an IPO
Improve the efficiency of financial processes and procedures and monitor compliance
Share knowledge between team members to ensure cover is available when needed
Actively develop your own skills to ensure current knowledge of applicable standards and regulations
Establish strong relationships with key colleagues outside the wider finance team
Possess an exceptional academic track record and subsequent career performance
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
Be a qualified accountant with ACCA, ACA, ACMA, CPA, or equivalent qualification
Have IFRS 15 or ASC 606 revenue recognition experience
Have experience at a large public accounting firm or public multinational corporate accounting department (preferred)
Have experience with NetSuite or similar systems (a plus)
Be willing to travel up to four times per year
