Job Description
A Python Software Engineer role focused on developing and maintaining hardware certification and test automation tools to improve Linux hardware testing and certification processes at Canonical.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop features for Python-based test automation tools like Checkbox
- Enable remote, automated hardware testing
- Develop software for in-house testing hardware to test device features such as graphics, hotplug, and Bluetooth
- Write functional and performance tests to support hardware enablement and prevent regressions
Requirements
- Knowledge of Python programming language.
- Quality oriented, pragmatic approach to software design and implementation.
- Interest in test automation methodologies.
- Previous experience working with Ubuntu or other Linux distributions.
- Ability to be productive in a globally distributed team.
- Participation in meetings involving international travel 2-3 times per year.
