A product management role focused on leading the development and strategy of Canonical's cloud native products, including Juju, identity management, and observability, to drive open source software adoption and innovation in enterprise and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the lifecycle management of cloud native products, including setting priorities and goals.
Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to align on product development and market strategies.
Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and gather customer feedback to identify opportunities.
Develop and implement strategies for product areas such as identity management and observability.
Oversee product development processes and review progress with engineering leads.
Drive execution excellence through continuous feedback and process improvements.
Mentor and develop team members to build high-performing teams.
Contribute to sales success by reviewing customer feedback and participating in customer meetings.
Requirements
Seasoned product management experience in technical domains related to the usage and or the management of open source software in the cloud native landscape.
Experience designing or managing software operations for large scale distributed systems.
Good understanding of cloud native technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker containers.
Comprehensive knowledge of the common enterprise security and compliance requirements in the area of software operations.
Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive their execution to excellence.
Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.
Excellent communications skills in English, both verbal and written.
Experience with market research, analyzing industry trends, and gathering customer feedback to identify opportunities.
Ability to develop and review product priorities, goals, and lifecycle management.
Ability to work closely with engineering leads to oversee the product development process.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as engineering, design, marketing, and sales to address challenges, align on priorities, and ensure business execution.
Experience in coaching, mentoring, and training team members.
Ability to establish KPIs for project status reporting and communicate them across the organization.
Ability to drive execution excellence through continuous feedback and improvement.
Experience in developing strategies to create and maintain high performing teams.
Experience contributing to the success of sales teams by reviewing customer feedback and participating in customer meetings.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and drive their execution to excellence.
Passion for writing about technologies and experience in developer marketing.
Strong work ethic and personal interests aligned with the open source philosophy.
Demonstrated ability to analyze industry trends and identify market opportunities.
Experience with or knowledge of CNCF projects, identity, or observability systems is a plus.
