Job Description
This role involves developing and optimizing open source networking software for data centers, working on advanced networking technologies, collaborating with global teams, and contributing to open source projects to enhance network innovation and hardware acceleration.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver open source networking software for data center and enterprise environments
- Collaborate with upstream projects, public clouds, and hardware providers to optimize networking solutions
- Design, implement, and debug software-defined networking features and protocols
- Contribute to technical documentation and open source community engagement
- Provide technical leadership and influence open-source networking projects
- Work with advanced operating systems and network application technologies
- Participate in upstream development and integration of the Ubuntu SoNIC stack
- Contribute to the deployment and support of networking solutions across various platforms and use cases
Requirements
- An exceptional academic track record with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about your alternative path.
- Drive and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations.
- Knowledge of networking architecture, design, and protocols.
- Understanding of Linux networking, from kernel to user space.
- Fluency in C and at least one of Rust, Python or Golang.
- Professional written and spoken English.
- Experience with Linux.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.
- Passion, thoughtfulness, and self-motivation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Result-oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments.
- Ability to travel twice a year, for company events up to two weeks each.
