Job Description
This role involves developing and upstreaming advanced network software for data center and enterprise environments, focusing on open source networking technologies, hardware acceleration, and collaboration with global partners to deliver innovative, secure, and high-performance networking solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver open source networking software for data center and enterprise environments
- Collaborate with upstream communities, public clouds, and silicon providers to design and implement networking solutions
- Write high-quality, secure, and well-documented software for network applications
- Debug issues and produce high-quality fixes in networking software
- Contribute to technical documentation and open source projects
- Engage with the open-source community and industry partners to influence networking technologies
Requirements
- An exceptional academic track record with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about an alternative path.
- Drive and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations.
- Knowledge of networking architecture, design, and protocols.
- Understanding of Linux networking, from kernel to user space.
- Fluency in C and at least one of Rust, Python or Golang.
- Professional written and spoken English.
- Experience with Linux.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.
- Passion, thoughtfulness, and self-motivation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Result-oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments.
- Ability to travel twice a year, for company events up to two weeks each.
