Job Description
This role involves working across the Linux stack to optimize Ubuntu for various hardware platforms, collaborating with partners to deliver integrated solutions, and contributing to the development of Ubuntu's IoT, desktop, and server technologies in a remote, globally distributed team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement Ubuntu integration for IoT, desktop, and server hardware platforms and software stacks
- Collaborate with partners to deliver optimized Ubuntu experiences on their platforms
- Lead technical engagements involving system architectures from cloud to edge
- Assist partners in integrating applications, SDKs, building device OS images, and optimizing applications with Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server
- Work with advanced operating systems and enterprise application technologies
Requirements
- The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM or similar.
- The candidate must have experience with Linux packaging including Debian, RPM, and Yocto.
- The candidate must have experience working with open source communities and licenses.
- The candidate must have experience working with programming languages Python, C, and C++.
- The candidate must be able to work in a globally distributed team through self-discipline and self-motivation.
