Job Description
A leadership role managing an engineering team to optimize Ubuntu across various hardware platforms, working closely with silicon partners to deliver high-quality, integrated Linux solutions while overseeing technical delivery and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers to design and implement Ubuntu integration for new hardware platforms and software stacks
- Engage with commercial partners to deliver optimized Ubuntu experiences on their platforms
- Manage relationships with key technology partners to ensure timely project milestone delivery
- Oversee technical delivery, quality, and reliability standards across projects
- Collaborate with internal teams to align on product architecture and roadmaps
- Develop and mentor engineering team members through coaching and feedback
Requirements
- Technical leadership experience and a background in software engineering are necessary prerequisites for this role.
- Experience working with Linux distributions, debian packaging, and high performance, server-class hardware.
- Experience working directly with customers, resolving their technical issues, interpreting their business challenges, and effectively communicating how solutions will meet their needs.
- Demonstrated experience managing or leading a team of software engineers.
- Understanding of agile software development methodologies.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and oral.
- A bachelor’s or equivalent university level degree, preferably in a technology field.
