A leadership role managing an engineering team to optimize Ubuntu across various hardware platforms, working closely with silicon partners to deliver high-quality, integrated Linux solutions while overseeing technical delivery and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a team of engineers to design and implement Ubuntu integration for new hardware platforms and software stacks
Engage with commercial partners to deliver optimized Ubuntu experiences on their platforms
Manage relationships with key technology partners to ensure timely project milestone delivery
Oversee technical delivery, quality, and reliability standards across projects
Collaborate with internal teams to align on product architecture and roadmaps
Develop and mentor engineering team members through coaching and feedback
Requirements
Technical leadership experience and a background in software engineering are necessary prerequisites for this role.
Experience working with Linux distributions, debian packaging, and high performance, server-class hardware.
Experience working directly with customers, resolving their technical issues, interpreting their business challenges, and effectively communicating how solutions will meet their needs.
Demonstrated experience managing or leading a team of software engineers.
Understanding of agile software development methodologies.
Effective communication skills in English, both written and oral.
A bachelor’s or equivalent university level degree, preferably in a technology field.
