Job Description
A leadership role overseeing an engineering team focused on optimizing Ubuntu Linux for the latest silicon hardware, working closely with major technology partners to deliver high-quality, integrated solutions across PC and IoT platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a distributed engineering team to design and implement Ubuntu integration for IoT and server hardware platforms
- Engage with commercial partners to deliver optimized Ubuntu experiences on their platforms
- Oversee project milestones and ensure timely delivery of technical solutions
- Develop team members through coaching, mentoring, and feedback
- Collaborate with internal teams to align on product architecture and roadmaps
- Maintain high standards of quality and reliability in deliverables
Requirements
- Technical leadership experience and a background in software engineering are necessary prerequisites for this role.
- Experience working with Linux distributions, debian packaging, and high performance, server-class hardware.
- Experience managing or leading a team of software engineers.
- Understanding of agile software development methodologies.
- Experience working directly with customers, resolving their technical issues, interpreting their business challenges, and effectively communicating how solutions will meet their needs.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and oral.
- A bachelor’s or equivalent university level degree, preferably in a technology field.
