Job Description

A Linux devices software engineer responsible for developing and maintaining mission-critical code related to software delivery, containers, security sandboxing, telemetry, and device management within the SnapD team, focusing on open source Linux platform integration and robustness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate proactively with a distributed team to develop and improve software features
  • Write high-quality code in Golang and other languages to create new functionalities
  • Debug and resolve Linux system-level issues to ensure system robustness
  • Review code contributions from other engineers to maintain code quality
  • Discuss and collaborate on technical solutions and ideas
  • Focus on achieving robustness and reliability despite unexpected events

Requirements

  • Proven professional software development experience using Go, Python, C, or C
  • Knowledge of Linux system-level fundamentals, e.g., cgroups, namespaces, apparmor
  • Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field
  • Commitment to software testing, code reviews, and maintaining high-quality, maintainable code
  • Ability to collaborate proactively with a distributed team, review code produced by other engineers, and discuss ideas to find good solutions
  • Experience in debugging Linux system-level issues and producing high-quality code to fix them
  • Ability to write high-quality code to create new features
  • Experience working with Linux as a developer platform
  • Willingness to work remotely with the possibility of global travel for up to two weeks, twice a year
