A Junior Data Engineer at Canonical is responsible for utilizing advanced data analytics, building and maintaining open source marketing data stacks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve data access and insights, supporting the company's growth and marketing strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Utilize advanced data analytics to support product adoption and market growth
Design and conduct data experiments, visualizations, and insights for target audiences
Build and integrate a marketing data stack using open source tools with data mesh
Collaborate with stakeholder teams to improve data and tool ecosystems
Implement and maintain systems for self-service data access and dashboards
Requirements
Background in data science, mathematics, actuarial science, or engineering
Up to 1 year of experience in data analytics
Knowledge in advanced statistics, data sciences, coding scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, etc., and databases such as SQL
Strength in data visualisation tools including Looker Studio, Tableau, Apache Superset, etc.
Ability to translate business questions into key research objectives
Ability to identify the best methodology to execute research, synthesise and analyse findings
Excellent writing and communication skills
Willingness to examine the status quo and resilience in the face of challenges
