Job Description
A Junior Data Engineer at Canonical is responsible for utilizing advanced data analytics, building and maintaining open source-based marketing data stacks, and collaborating with various teams to improve data access and insights, supporting the company's growth and innovation in marketing technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize advanced data analytics to support product adoption and market growth
- Design and conduct data experiments, visualizations, and insights for target audiences
- Build and integrate a marketing data stack using open source tools and data mesh
- Collaborate with stakeholder teams to improve data and tool ecosystems
- Implement and maintain systems for self-service data access and dashboards
Requirements
- Background in data science, mathematics, actuarial science, or engineering
- Up to 1 year of experience in data analytics
- Knowledge in advanced statistics, data sciences, coding scripting languages Python, JavaScript, etc., and databases SQL, etc.
- Strength in data visualisation tools Looker Studio, Tableau, Apache Superset, etc.
- Ability to translate business questions to key research objectives
- Ability to identify the best methodology to execute research, synthesise and analyse findings
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Willingness to examine the status quo and resilient in the face of challenges
