A leadership role overseeing a team of Field engineers focused on presales and professional services for IoT solutions, involving solution architecture, customer engagement, and technical mentorship in a remote, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of Field engineers in Presales and Professional Services
Solve customer problems by promoting technologies and acting as a trusted advisor
Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback to team members
Plan, manage, and track progress on goals and projects
Represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers
Develop and evangelize engineering and organizational practices
Collaborate with leadership and other teams as part of the leadership team
Requirements
Location in one of the three Geos (Americas, EMEA, or APAC) to manage a team spanning multiple time zones, as this is a remote role.
Lead and develop a team of Field engineers, ranging from graduate to senior, in the areas of Presales and Professional Services.
Experience of low-level Linux boot, BIOS, firmware, and embedded software development methodologies.
Extensive embedded Linux experience, with preference for Yocto or other embedded Linux distributions.
Extensive Linux experience, with preference for Debian or Ubuntu.
Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
Ability to manage a small team effectively.
Experience with customer engagements and acting as a trusted advisor to solve customer problems.
Professional written and spoken English skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.
Result-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments.
Ability to communicate the business benefits of technology.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
Other desirable traits include RTOS experience, additional programming languages, and experience working in a remote-first, diverse, distributed company.
