Job Description
The IoT Solutions Architecture Manager leads a remote team of field engineers to deliver solution architecture, design, and customer support for secure connected devices, focusing on embedded Linux technologies and fostering technical and organizational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Field engineers in Presales and Professional Services
- Solve customer problems by promoting technologies and acting as a trusted advisor
- Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback to team members
- Identify and measure team health indicators
- Implement disciplined engineering processes
- Represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers
- Develop and evangelize engineering and organizational practices
- Plan and manage progress on goals and projects
- Collaborate with leadership as part of the leadership team
Requirements
- Location in one of the three Geos (Americas, EMEA, or APAC) to manage a team spanning few timezones, as this is a remote role.
- Lead and develop a team of Field engineers, ranging from graduate to senior, in the areas of Presales and Professional Services.
- Solve customer problems by promoting our technologies and being a trusted advisor.
- Manage a small team effectively.
- Experience with customer engagements.
- Fluency in at least one of Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
- Extensive embedded Linux experience, including Yocto or other embedded Linux build systems.
- Extensive Linux experience, with a preference for Debian or Ubuntu.
- Ability to manage a team and coach, mentor, and offer career development feedback.
- Ability to identify and measure team health indicators.
- Experience in planning and managing progress on goals and projects.
- Excellent professional written and spoken English skills.
- Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Result-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments.
- Ability to communicate the business benefits of technology.
- Other desirable traits include RTOS experience, additional programming languages (both technical and human languages), and previous experience working in a remote-first, diverse, distributed company.
