The Security Engineering Manager will lead and develop a team of engineers focused on enhancing the security features of Ubuntu, particularly through the AppArmor security module, while collaborating across teams to protect millions of users worldwide.

Collaborate with security engineering leadership and cross-functional teams to address emerging threats and improve security measures
Requirements
Lead and develop a team of engineers, ranging from graduate to senior, including coaching, mentoring, and offering career development feedback.
Identify and measure team health indicators.
Implement disciplined engineering processes.
Represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
Develop and evangelise great engineering and organisational practices.
Plan and manage progress on agreed goals and projects.
Be an active part of the security engineering leadership team, collaborating with other leaders.
Hold an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or demonstrate a compelling narrative about an alternative educational path.
Have a drive and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Have a love of developing and growing people, with a proven track record of doing so.
Be organised and able to ensure your team delivers timely, high-quality results.

Be proficient in C programming language and have a good understanding of Linux kernel development.
Have experience working with Linux Security Modules.
Be knowledgeable and passionate about software and application security.
