This role involves leading and developing engineering teams in a remote, global environment, focusing on technical excellence, team growth, and collaboration to deliver open source software solutions across various domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of engineers across various experience levels
- Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback to team members
- Implement disciplined engineering processes and ensure team delivers high-quality results on schedule
- Represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers
- Plan and manage progress on goals and projects
- Collaborate with other leaders as part of the leadership team
- Drive collaboration with other teams and external partners
- Develop and evangelize engineering and organizational best practices
Requirements
- Ability to lead and develop a team of engineers, ranging from graduate to senior level.
- Experience in coaching, mentoring, and offering career development feedback to software developers.
- Proven track record of going above and beyond expectations in professional achievements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring software developers.
- Ability to ensure the team delivers timely, high-quality results and is well-organized.
- Professional manner of interacting with colleagues, partners, and the community.
- Advanced expertise in your domain relevant to the engineering management role.
- Knowledgeable and passionate about software development.
- Solid experience working in an agile development environment.
- Demonstrated drive for continual learning.
- Ability to develop engineering talent and represent your team and product from a technical perspective.
- Experience in developing and evangelizing engineering and organizational practices.
- Experience in planning and managing progress on goals and projects.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM field, or a compelling narrative about an alternative path.
- An academic track record from both high school and university.
- Drive and a track record of exceeding expectations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience in working in an agile development environment.
- Ability to travel twice a year for company events, up to two weeks each.
- Willingness to work remotely in a single major time zone, sometimes two.
- Result-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments.
- Ability to build trust, relationships, and confidence with colleagues and stakeholders.
