Job Description
This role involves designing and optimizing Ubuntu Linux for the latest hardware platforms, working across the full Linux stack from kernel to GUI, and collaborating with partners and customers to deliver high-quality, integrated solutions for IoT and server environments in a remote, fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement Ubuntu integration for the latest IoT and server hardware platforms
- Collaborate with partners to deliver optimized Ubuntu experiences on their platforms
- Lead technical efforts on complex customer system architecture engagements from cloud to edge
- Assist customers in integrating applications, SDKs, and building device OS images
- Optimize applications using Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server across diverse hardware environments
Requirements
- The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field.
- The candidate must have experience with Linux packaging systems including Debian, RPM, and Yocto.
- The candidate must have experience working with open source communities and licenses.
- The candidate must have experience working with C and C++ programming languages.
- The candidate must be able to work in a globally distributed team through self-discipline and self-motivation.
