The Embedded Linux Field Engineering Manager leads a remote team of engineers in presales and professional services, helping customers design and deliver embedded Linux solutions for IoT and edge computing applications, while fostering technical excellence and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of Field engineers in Presales and Professional Services
Solve customer problems by promoting technologies and acting as a trusted advisor
Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback to team members
Implement and measure team health indicators
Represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers
Develop and evangelize engineering and organizational practices
Plan and manage progress on goals and projects
Collaborate with leadership as part of the leadership team
Requirements
Location in one of the three Geos: Americas, EMEA, or APAC, with the ability to manage a team spanning multiple time zones within that region
Lead and develop a team of Field engineers, ranging from graduate to senior, in the areas of Presales and Professional Services
Solve customer problems by promoting our technologies and being a trusted advisor
Experience with customer engagements
Proficiency in Linux, including extensive experience with embedded Linux (Yocto or other), Debian or Ubuntu preferred
Fluency in at least one of the following programming languages: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust
Ability to manage a small team
Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
Professional written and spoken English skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
Result-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments
Ability to communicate the business benefits of technology
Experience with low-level Linux boot, BIOS, firmware, and embedded software development methodologies
Experience with disciplined engineering processes
Ability to plan and manage progress on agreed goals and projects
