Job Description
A senior leadership role within Canonical's Talent Science team, responsible for delivering strategic talent acquisition projects, designing talent selection frameworks, and coaching team members to ensure high-performance hiring outcomes aligned with company goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver the strategic Talent Science project roadmap, managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Design and implement solutions to complex talent acquisition problems to ensure high-quality hiring outcomes
- Develop and oversee talent selection initiatives aligned with high performance outcomes and career frameworks
- Create and refine professional processes and frameworks in collaboration with management for efficient talent acquisition
- Coach and mentor team members to enhance analytical skills and thought leadership, including developing training materials
- Represent the Talent Science team in the absence of the Head of Talent Science, acting as a credible adviser and leader
- Collaborate with company leaders to communicate and align on the vision for talent at Canonical
Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in a psychology or people based subject.
- A proven track record of team leadership within the technology or consulting industry, with exceptional project management skills to lead roadmap delivery and product development.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring a team to deliver exceptional results.
- Deep understanding of selection, career frameworks, and building internal products to ensure that talent selection criteria match desired outcomes.
- Advanced analytical ability to dissect and analyze data using SQL, Python, and statistical analysis.
- Exceptional written and spoken English with strong presentation skills for a senior audience.
- Ability to travel internationally 4 times a year for company events.
- Experience of working with career frameworks and hiring outcomes.
- Experience of leading and delivering strategic Talent Science project roadmaps using project management and influencing skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience designing and implementing solutions to complex problems that ensure the hiring of exceptional talent.
- Experience coaching and mentoring team members to grow and develop their analytical capabilities and thought leadership, including developing training materials and documentation.
- Ability to act as a credible and trusted adviser and an inspiring leader in the absence of the Head of Talent Science.
- Ability to work closely with company leaders to understand, appreciate, and communicate the company's vision for talent.
- Exceptional academic record from high school and university.
- Ability to step up and lead the Talent Science function when required.
