Job Description
This role involves leading and managing a team of cloud solutions engineers to design, deploy, and support open source cloud solutions for customers, while also participating in technical presales and fostering team development in a remote, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of engineers across various experience levels
- Coach, mentor, and provide career development guidance to team members
- Design and deploy private and public cloud solutions tailored to customer workload needs
- Participate in technical presales activities by providing expert advice
- Manage team performance, measure team health indicators, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality results
- Represent the team and products to stakeholders, partners, and customers
- Develop and promote engineering and organizational best practices
- Plan and track progress on goals and projects
- Collaborate with other teams and leadership to align engineering efforts
Requirements
- Lead and develop a team of engineers, ranging from graduate to senior, and provide coaching, mentoring, and career development feedback.
- Experience in developing engineering talent and representing your team from a technical perspective.
- Ability to drive collaboration with other teams and customers.
- Active participation in technical presales to help achieve departmental quarterly goals.
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies, such as Kubernetes, Openstack, AWS, GCP, Azure, Ceph, etc.
- Practical knowledge of Linux and networking.
- Experience in technical presales activities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Passion for and a track record of developing and growing people.
- Experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring engineers.
- Organizational skills to ensure the team delivers timely, high-quality results.
- An exceptional academic track record from high school and, preferably, university.
- Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time, attending internal company events, external tech events, and customer meetings.
