Job Description
A leadership role overseeing a team of cloud solutions engineers, responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting open source cloud solutions for customers, while also participating in technical presales and fostering team development in a remote, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of field engineers in presales and professional services
- Design and deploy private and public cloud solutions tailored to customer needs
- Troubleshoot technical issues and act as a trusted advisor to customers
- Participate in technical presales activities to support sales goals
- Manage team performance, provide career guidance, and foster professional growth
- Represent the team and products to stakeholders, partners, and customers
- Implement engineering processes and ensure timely, high-quality project delivery
- Collaborate with other teams and leadership to align on engineering roadmaps and initiatives
Requirements
- Experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring engineers, with a track record of developing and growing people.
- Practical knowledge of Linux and networking.
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies, such as Kubernetes, Openstack, AWS, GCP, Azure, Ceph, etc.
- Experience in technical presales activities, including providing technical advice during the sales process.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Organized and able to ensure the team delivers timely, high-quality results.
- Ability to develop engineering talent and represent the team from a technical perspective.
- Experience in deploying, testing, and handing over cloud solutions such as Openstack, MicroCloud, Ceph, Kubernetes, Kubeflow, Spark, PostgreSQL, etc.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, attending internal company events, external tech events, and customer meetings.
- An exceptional academic track record from high school and, preferably, university.
- Ability to actively participate in technical presales to help achieve quarterly goals.
- Ability to plan and manage progress on goals and projects.
- Ability to work remotely in a single major time zone and manage a team within that zone.
- Representation of the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
- Experience in collaborating with external partners and internal teams, providing stakeholder feedback for engineering roadmaps.
