Job Description

This role involves leading a team of cloud solutions engineers to design, deploy, and support open source cloud technologies for customers, while also participating in technical presales and fostering team development in a remote, global environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Field Engineers in presales and professional services
  • Solve customer problems by promoting technologies and acting as a trusted advisor
  • Participate in technical presales activities to support sales goals
  • Manage team performance, provide coaching, mentoring, and career development
  • Design and deploy private and public cloud solutions including Openstack, Kubernetes, Ceph, and others
  • Test, deploy, and hand over cloud solutions to support or managed services teams
  • Represent the team and products to stakeholders, partners, and customers
  • Plan and manage progress on engineering goals and projects
  • Collaborate with other teams and leadership to ensure successful project delivery

Requirements

  • Experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring engineers, with a track record of developing and growing people.
  • Practical knowledge of Linux and networking.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies, such as Kubernetes, Openstack, AWS, GCP, Azure, Ceph, etc.
  • Experience in technical presales activities, including providing technical advice during the sales process.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Organized and able to ensure the team delivers timely, high-quality results.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, attending internal company events, external tech events, and customer meetings.
  • An exceptional academic track record from high school and, preferably, university.
  • Ability to lead and develop a team of field engineers, ranging from graduate to senior levels, in presales and professional services.
  • Ability to solve customer problems by promoting technologies and acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Ability to represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
  • Ability to develop engineering talent and drive collaboration with other teams and customers.
  • Willingness to actively participate in technical presales to help achieve quarterly goals.
