Job Description
This role involves leading a team of cloud solutions engineers to design, deploy, and support open source cloud technologies for customers, while also participating in technical presales and fostering team development in a remote, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Field Engineers in presales and professional services
- Solve customer problems by promoting technologies and acting as a trusted advisor
- Participate in technical presales activities to support sales goals
- Manage team performance, provide coaching, mentoring, and career development
- Design and deploy private and public cloud solutions including Openstack, Kubernetes, Ceph, and others
- Test, deploy, and hand over cloud solutions to support or managed services teams
- Represent the team and products to stakeholders, partners, and customers
- Plan and manage progress on engineering goals and projects
- Collaborate with other teams and leadership to ensure successful project delivery
Requirements
- Experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring engineers, with a track record of developing and growing people.
- Practical knowledge of Linux and networking.
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies, such as Kubernetes, Openstack, AWS, GCP, Azure, Ceph, etc.
- Experience in technical presales activities, including providing technical advice during the sales process.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Organized and able to ensure the team delivers timely, high-quality results.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, attending internal company events, external tech events, and customer meetings.
- An exceptional academic track record from high school and, preferably, university.
- Ability to lead and develop a team of field engineers, ranging from graduate to senior levels, in presales and professional services.
- Ability to solve customer problems by promoting technologies and acting as a trusted advisor.
- Ability to represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
- Ability to develop engineering talent and drive collaboration with other teams and customers.
- Willingness to actively participate in technical presales to help achieve quarterly goals.
