Job Description
A software engineer role focused on designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance graphics and windowing system components for Mir, using C and Rust, with opportunities to engage with open source communities and contribute to modern display technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement features across the Mir graphics stack
- Debug, troubleshoot, and fix issues within the software
- Conduct code and architectural reviews as part of the engineering process
- Create and improve tests and performance benchmarks
- Maintain documentation to enhance developer experience
- Engage with the open source community and collaborate with partners
- Collaborate proactively with a distributed team
Requirements
- Strong skills in both Rust and C programming languages.
- Minimum of 2 years industry experience.
- Excellent modern C programming skills.
- Excellent Rust programming skills.
- Familiarity with Linux as a development and deployment platform.
- Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Computer Science, STEM, or similar field.
- Experience in designing and implementing features across the Mir stack.
- Experience in debugging, tracking down, and fixing issues in software.
- Experience participating in engineering processes through code and architectural review.
- Experience creating and improving tests and performance benchmarks to catch issues early.
- Experience creating and maintaining documentation to enhance the developer experience.
- Ability to collaborate remotely with a diverse set of team members and remain highly motivated, productive, and organized.
- Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events, up to two weeks long.
