The Business Services Team Manager at Canonical is responsible for overseeing travel, logistics, event planning, and administrative services to support company operations and large-scale events worldwide, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance in a fast-paced, global tech environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage travel procurement, logistics, and operations for company events and daily activities
Coordinate and oversee large-scale company events, including planning, scheduling, venue selection, and safety reviews
Review and approve travel and expense claims to ensure fairness, consistency, and policy compliance
Manage and support executive scheduling, meetings, and delegated approvals
Ensure the smooth execution of global travel, visas, and handling unexpected travel complications
Coordinate with suppliers and manage small projects or initiatives related to business services
Participate in company event planning and operational activities to ensure successful execution
Maintain health and safety programs and enforce comprehensive policies across the organization
Requirements
An exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
An undergraduate degree in a technical or business subject
Drive, and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations
Leadership and management skills
Demonstrable good judgement in matters involving money, policy and in-person interactions
Ability to work in a global, multicultural organisation
Responsibility, accountability, thoughtfulness and self-awareness
Result-oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments
Ability to travel up to four times a year, for company events up to two weeks long
Experience in travel industry, project management, event management and operations, or business and corporate administration (preferred but not mandatory)
