Job Description
This position involves designing and reviewing telecommunications and electronic security systems for various building projects, including healthcare, education, and commercial facilities, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform construction drawings and specifications for telecommunications systems in building projects
- Design communication and telecommunication systems for healthcare, education, and commercial clients, including security and audiovisual systems
- Analyze engineering documents and layout systems for components and parts
- Research and resolve design issues
- Participate in value engineering sessions to improve design quality and coordination
- Review and markup shop drawings and submittals
- Gather information for RFIs and review change orders during construction document preparation
- Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress
Requirements
- Minimum ABET EAC Bachelor degree or equivalent required.
- Qualified candidates must have 4 years of related experience.
- EIT or FE certification is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects.
- Proficiency in Revit is preferred.
- Willingness to perform overtime work.
- Willingness to travel.
- Ability to perform site visits that require a physical walk-through of the site.
